Ms. Cindy Van Kampen
Sixth Grade Homeroom, Middle School Science, Math
CINDY VAN KAMPEN IS OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL math and science teacher, and homeroom teacher for the sixth grade. She really values the teaching atmosphere at BCS. The staff is “more like a family than a group of workers, and the students are our many children.” She really enjoys working in such a “caring environment.”
:
Cindy loves the creativity of her middle schoolers, and finds them a lot of fun to teach. “They are going through so many changes at this time, and it is a challenge at times, to keep up with them.” Her favorite middle school project is the radio plays that the sixth graders write and perform for the sound chapter in science. The Science Fair is also something Cindy looks forward to every year.
:
Cindy is single and enjoys singing in the church choir and participating in Bible study. In her free time, Cindy may be found reading, doing cross stitch, working on a Creative Memory Scrapbook, and even stargazing on a clear night. She has been teaching at BCS since the 1985-86 school year. :
Ms. Van Kampen’s Mission Statement:
1The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
3There is no speech or language where their
voice is not heard.
4Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
–Psalm 19:1-4
“The glory of God proclaimed through his creation. This is the reason why I love to teach what I do. God’s creation is there, waiting for eager minds to discover its wonders. And in the process, discover God as well.
:
“The sciences are where all theses wonders can be explored and enhanced. I love to watch the students discover something new about God’s creation. It is truly fulfilling to help them grow in the knowledge of how wonderfully God made his creation work together. They discover that God has control of all things, from smallest microorganism to the largest galaxy.
“I believe that God has called me to show students His wonders, to help them understand how to care for His creation, and in the end grow closer to him through this understanding.”
