Principal, Administrator

Mr. Robert Wiers

WITH HIS EXPERIENCE AS AN ADMINISTRATOR spanning nearly 30 years, Bob Wiers has brought his wisdom, insight and a fresh perspective to Brookfield Christian School. Mr. Wiers joined our staff as principal in the 1997-98 school year, after serving the last 19 years as administrator of Calvin Christian School in Escondido, California. Prior to his west coast experience, Bob served 11 years as principal at Racine Christian School, in southern Wisconsin.

He enjoys his job at BCS for many reasons. “I really appreciate the very close community of families here. There are so many hard working people that support this school in a variety of ways. I also enjoy working with an experienced and knowledgeable staff, who are really up to date with current educational trends.” Our student population at BCS finds Mr. Wiers very approachable and easy to talk to. And our youngest students love to give their very tall principal hugs. “I love the upbeat, positive attitude of these little kids. They give me a real ‘pick-me-up’ feeling just being around them during the school day.” As for the older kids, “I love the variety of personalities, and their unpredictability.” The class sizes at BCS are small, and Bob sees that as a real benefit to his position at BCS. “I really get a chance to know all of the students,” which would be nearly impossible at a larger school.

Bob, a Chicago area native, is married and has 4 children. When he is not overseeing the myriad of activities going on in a typical BCS school day, some of his favorite non-school activities include sports—particularly baseball—and bike riding. When asked what his favorite BCS event is, he didn’t hesitate with his answer, “I love the energy of this place on opening day each year—I am always able to look at the coming school year with great anticipation.”

Mr. Wiers’ Mission Statement:

“As a Christian and a principal of a school I am first of all accountable to God. I am His servant placed in a role to help children know God and dedicate their lives in service to Him.

“I Corinthians 13 reminds me of the importance of love in the Christian life. We love God because of His power as creator and for the gift of salvation given through His son. Love should always be reflected in all school relationships:

“My role with parents is to communicate clearly the expectations of the school and to insure that each child is regarded as a child of God. I must work closely with parents to help communicate and reinforce the values we cooperatively establish for their children.

“My role with students is to love them and provide the best learning opportunity for them regardless of ability. I must provide an environment that is safe and enriching where they can fully develop their talents. Loving them also means correcting them when they stray from God’s laws and the values that are the basis of the school. I must always model the Christian life and remember that my influence over the children has eternal significance.

“My role with teachers is to also love them by encouraging them to grow spiritually and academically. I must communicate the Board’s expectations and challenge them to practice professionalism. I will provide an environment that supports creativity and diversity of teaching styles while still adhering to the school’s goals:

“My role with the Board is to love them for their dedication to Christian education and the Brookfield Christian School. It is my responsibility to carry out their wishes in operating the school. I must also inform and advise the Board in the decisions they must make for the school.”

In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech… Titus 2:7
