Dear BCS Parents-
For the past few months, you have been receiving information about the March 19th BCS Dinner and Fellowship Auction. The event is just one month away. Since some are new to BCS and some may be new to the auction experience, we are sending out a letter to provide a little more detail about the evening.
Every spring, BCS hosts the fellowship auction which is an enjoyable evening away from the school setting. The guests consist of current BCS parents, school staff, relatives, alumni, and friends. The event features silent and voice auctions, a sit down dinner, and time to socialize. The donated items are from BCS families, relatives, and area businesses. We are pleased to be holding the 2010 event at Davians Banquet and Conference Center in Menomonee Falls.
Upon arrival to Davians, you will be given an event program, table assignment, bid number, and name tag. If you plan on paying for your purchases with a credit card, you will be asked to swipe your card at this time. This will expedite the check out at the end of the evening. You will then be able to browse the silent auction items, as well as visit the mystery card and cork pull tables. If you would like to bid on an item, you will enter your bid number and dollar amount on the bid sheet accompanying the item. By using your bid number rather than your name, the process is kept somewhat anonymous. The highest bidder “wins” as the tables are systematically closed. Closings will be announced ahead of time.
We will be seated for dinner at 7:30pm. As the meal is concluding, we will have a video tribute to our beloved Mrs. Noldan and then begin the voice auction. The voice auction features items considered likely to bring in larger bids- vacations, special events with our teachers, a Brewers’ Club Suite, and a puppy (just to name a few). Should you want to bid on these items, you will have an enlarged bid number to be held up and acknowledged by the auctioneer. We encourage you to consider bidding on the voice auction items with others. Some of these packages are easily shared with friends.
During the voice auction, you will receive a receipt detailing your purchases. There will be a check out station available in the lobby as you exit. Items can be paid for with cash, check, and credit card. You are able to take your items home at the end of the evening.
The auction is meant to be a time of fellowship, as well as an opportunity to raise money for our school. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year. Proceeds from the auction decrease each student’s tuition by $250-$300 each year. If you attend, you are under no obligation to make a purchase. You can come to enjoy the food, conversation, and atmosphere.
We hope to see you there.
Sincerely-
Trish Duimstra
