One private introductory riding lesson will be individualized by Cindy Stiemsma, based on the student's comfortability. Typically a student begins on the ground helping with grooming and prepping the horse, learning about tack & proper fitting, then moves onto basic western riding (using voice and leg cues, and neck reining) and also helps with cool-down care. General equine care will also be taught if interested. Lessons are confined to a grassy outdoor arena area to reduce animal dander and dust sensitivity. Parents and siblings may watch quietly from outside the arena. Riding helmets are provided. Proper footwear and attire are required. All horses are full-sized registered quarter horses. Per Wisconsin state law, all riders ride at their own risk, but every effort is made to maintain a safe and fun learning environment. One private introductory riding lesson will be individualized by Cindy Stiemsma, based on the student's comfortability. Typically a student begins on the ground helping with grooming and prepping the horse, learning about tack & proper fitting, then moves onto basic western riding (using voice and leg cues, and neck reining) and also helps with cool-down care. General equine care will also be taught if interested. Lessons are confined to a grassy outdoor arena area to reduce animal dander and dust sensitivity. Parents and siblings may watch quietly from outside the arena. Riding helmets are provided. Proper footwear and attire are required. All horses are full-sized registered quarter horses. Per Wisconsin state law, all riders ride at their own risk, but every effort is made to maintain a safe and fun learning environment.
