What do you believe?
The purpose of Brookfield Christian School is to provide a Christ-centered, quality education which will equip God’s children to function as Christians in society, church, and home. For a more detailed explanation of the foundational beliefs we share, download our statement of beliefs.
How do BCS students compare academically to other schools?
Brookfield Christian School participates in the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills, and continues to perform incredibly well when compared with other schools nationally. In 2007, our school scored higher than 94% of the schools across the country! In all areas, BCS students are testing at least two levels beyond their grade. By eighth grade, students are performing at the level of a high school senior in writing, a mid-year junior in reading, and a junior in science. We thank God for blessing us with excellent teachers and hard-working students!

How do we enroll?
Prospective Pre-kindergarten students must be four years old and kindergarten students must be five years old by September 1 of the school year. No student will be denied admission to Brookfield Christian School on the basis of race, color, sex, or national origin.
Parents desiring to enroll their children at Brookfield Christian School agree to the following admission requirements:
Admissions Application
Families submit a completed Application for Admissions Form.
Spiritual Requirements
Parents must acknowledge that the basis for Christian education at Brookfield Christian School is the Word of God. This means that children will be taught that God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe, and that Jesus Christ, his Son, is the only Savior for sinful men. Parents must agree to make a sincere effort to support and display Christian values in their home.
Church Involvement
All families are to be active members of a Bible-believing Christian church. A Pastor’s Recommendation Form is part of the admissions process.
School Financial Support and Involvement
All families are to be prepared to support the school program with an ability to pay the tuition and fees as set by the School Board. Parents’ desire to support the authority of the School Board and its policies for the operation of the school is important. BCS is a parent-run school that relies on parent volunteerism to accomplish its goals, and active participation is encouraged.
Parent Interview
The Administrator and a School Board member will interview parents applying for admission to discuss the aims of the school and those of the parents.
For more information, please contact the school office.
How much is tuition?
Every effort is made by the BCS School Board to keep tuition at an affordable level. BCS relies on donations to bridge the difference between tuition charged and the cost of education. Students are charged a comprehensive fee that covers books and tuition. There are multiple child and pastors’ discounts in addition to a 3% disount for tuition paid in full by August 1st.
Tuition is approved by the BCS Society in the spring of each year. Please do not let cost prohibit you from considering Brookfield Christian School. A tuition assistance program is available for students who qualify. Currently approximately 25% of our students recieve some form of tuition assistance. To discuss tuition for your family, please contact the please contact the school office.

Is BCS affiliated with a church or denomination?
Not directly. There are more than 25 churches represented at BCS. The school was established in 1963 by members of the Brookfield Christian Reformed Church. But the governing body of the school is the BCS Societyparents and other interested supporters, represented by an elected School Board.
While BCS enjoys the support and participation of a number of churches, we are a parent-run organization. No church’s council has direct governing authority over the school.
Is there a high school associated with BCS?
No. Students from BCS proceed to many different area high schools, Christian and private. We maintain contact with students after they begin high school to determine how well prepared they are, and how well they are adjusting. Students from BCS report that they have made a smooth transition to high school, and are very well equipped academically, socially, and spiritually. The majority of BCS students attend one of the following area high schools: Brookfield Central, Brookfield East, Heritage Christian, or Milwaukee Lutheran.

What methods do you use for teaching children to read? Do you teach phonics?
Yes. BCS uses a balanced literacy approach that includes speaking, listening, reading and writing. We believe that reading is constructing meaning from the written word. The components of skilled reading include phonics/word study, reading fluency, vocabulary development, and comprehension.
Our phonetic instruction includes letter/sound relationships, word families and patterns, blending sounds, and long word attack skills.
Students are taught to respond to and evaluate the written word in the light of God's word.
Where can I find the Accelerated Reader Quizzes?
BCS students can access any quiz that Renaissance Learning has available. To find out if a quiz is available for a particular book, or to determine the Accelerated Reader reading level and number of points assigned to a particular book, go to www.renlearn.com/store. Under the blue “Quiz Store” section, click on “Quiz Search.” You can search by book title, author, quiz number or ISBN.
When you press GO, if the book comes up, there is a quiz available. It will also indicate the reading level and points assigned for that book. At the BCS library, all AR books are marked with the reading level and points.
Do you have a computer lab?
Yes, BCS has a computer lab that is continually being updated with current software and hardware. In addition to the 25 computers and three servers in the state-of-the-art computer lab, many of the classrooms are also equipped with computers. A technology committee is continually looking for ways to integrate technology into every subject.
What is the "BCS Society?"
Brookfield Christian School is operated by a Society of parents and supporters. If you are a parent or supporter of BCS, you are a member of the BCS Society. That means that God is entrusting you, along with your Christian brothers and sisters, with stewardship of BCS.
The BCS Society elects a School Board to oversee the operation of the school, primarily through the work of the Administrator and the Board Committees. In April of each year, the Society meets elect new Board members, approve the next year’s budget, and hear reports from the Board.
What is "CSI?"
“CSI” is an acronym for Christian Schools International, a worldwide organization serving over 400 Christian Schools. This affiliation offers BCS a broad range of resources to meet the needs of students and staff.
Other CSI Christian schools in Wisconsin include Delavan, Fond du Lac, Oostburg, Racine, Randolph, Sheboygan, and Waupun. These Wisconsin CSI schools join together for several annual activities: banquet, a speech and spelling festival, a writing contest, a music festival, a two-day basketball tournament, a track meet, and a teachers’ institute.

What is the BCS Foundation?
The BCS Foundation was created to provide individuals with a stewardship opportunity that helps build a long-term, stable, financial support base for the school. Donations to the Foundation are placed in a safe, steadily-growing investment account. The annual interest generated by this account is given to BCS to assist in meeting its operating budget. In this way, the Foundation not only supports the day-to-day operation of BCS, but also helps build the school’s long-term fiscal stability. For more information about the BCS Foundation and how to donate, download the brochure (505k .pdf).
