Mrs. Steph Buteyn came to BCS in 2010. She teaches K-8 Art, gym for several elementary classes and 6th grade Bible. Steph attended Concordia University Wisconsin where she received a BA in K-12 Art Education. She spent a semester studying in Florence, Italy and Paris, France. Steph attended Christian schools her entire life: K-8 at St. Paul’s Lutheran in West Allis and Martin Luther High School. Upon graduation from college she moved to Phoenix, AZ and taught for two years at Cross of Christ Christian School in Anthem, AZ and one year at Joy Christian in Glendale, AZ. While teaching at Cross of Christ she started a ‘Women’s Sport’s Ministry’ and led a group of women to the bottom of the Grand Canyon twice in one year. She was also a leader in her church’s ‘Mentoring Ministry’ program.
In her free time, Steph enjoys spending time with her family, reading, playing tennis, running, hiking and most outdoor activities. She nurtures her creativity through various art media, such as painting, drawing and stained glass. Steph married fellow BCS teacher Mike Buteyn in 2013. The Buteyn family resides in Milwaukee.
