Janelle joined the BCS staff as our resource teacher in the 2015-’16 school year. She says “I absolutely love the community here. The faculty has been completely encouraging and supportive….I love the Christian atmosphere and love that is provided.” Ms. Barnett has a degree in Multicategorical Special Education from Bob Jones University. She returned to Wisconsin after teaching for several years in South Carolina, and now resides in a western suburb of Milwaukee, where she enjoys reading, working out, and DIY projects.
One of her favorite passages of Scripture is Hebrews 6:19, which says: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” Ms. Barnett says, “this is such a sweet reminder that when our emotions are anchored in the hope that ONLY He gives, we remain secure in that hope and we experience more of God.”
Ms. Barnett’s Mission Statement
“Within the classroom, there are students with various leaning styles. However different they may be, the commonality with each individual is that they are created in the image of God. Psalm 139:13 says, ‘For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.’ He knows us to our core. In knowing us, He continues to love every part of us, even so that he has initiated and pursued a relationship with us. God has created each of our lives for a purpose.
I believe that God has given me a desire to help my students find that purpose by overcoming weaknesses and perfecting their strengths in the process. Teaching at BCS allows for me to emphasize the importance of doing all for His glory and finding our identify and purpose solely in Him.”
