The 2016 BCS Fellowship Dinner and Auction was a huge success on many levels. The BCS community was blessed with a time to fellowship together while raising funds to support Christian education. It was so good to see the Lord’s work in action!
A few stats and highlights from the evening:
232 dinners were served. Those in attendance included 128 current parents, 18 grandparents, 25 parents of alumni, and 25 current/former staff. While there were many familiar faces, we also welcomed the opportunity to share the evening with new families and new friends of the school. This truly is an event for anyone with a heart for BCS and Christian education.
277 different auction packages were available varying in value from $10 to $6,200.
280 businesses or people donated items or advertised. (Check out the list of supporters and be sure to support their businesses!)
$104,514 was raised to benefit our school. A portion of this net profit includes the “Fund-a-Need” donations that will go directly to help offset the costs of the new library.
Many volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success. Parents, students, teachers, and friends of BCS alike made the evening possible. God’s blessings were displayed through the individual talents and gifts of the people involved: prayer partners, decorators, caramel makers, fabric cutters, frame fillers, drivers, runners, cashiers, spotters, photographers, party planners, package makers, pottery painters, technology experts and many others.
The BCS Board is grateful for the work of the auction committee and everyone who participated and contributed to the Fellowship Dinner and Auction. We are blessed to be able to serve an amazing God and to have such a supportive school community.
Save the Date: If you couldn’t make it this year or can’t wait to join us again next year, please set aside March 31, 2017 for next year’s BCS Fellowship Dinner and Auction. We look forward to seeing you next year!
Originally included as part of the recent expansion project completed in August of 2014, a decision was made to wait on the build-out of the new library until we had a clearer picture of the best use for the space. We now have a plan and a design for a flexible library area that will meet the needs of our students while accommodating a variety of uses.
We are excited to start work on this final piece of the expansion. We anticipate the project to start in mid-April with a target completion date of late May or early June. As funding for this project will not come from the Faith Reaching Further Campaign, our goal is to pay for the project through donations and money we have allocated in our Building Fund so that there is still no impact on tuition.
