  • Education: BA – Elementary Education with a concentration in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages),Taylor University

Katerina Perry joined the BCS staff during the 2020-2021 school year.  She enjoys spending time at the beach, exploring new places and trying new foods, listening to music, dancing, playing the guitar, and learning languages. Her family inspired her to study languages, and she was motivated to continue pursuing language learning by their example. Growing up, she heard words in Indonesian, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, and Portuguese in her household.

Miss Perry's favorite passage of Scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." She believes that hope for the future, especially hope that Christ will bless us with meaningful and beautiful experiences, is key to joy and well-being in the present. She wants students to use their brilliant imaginations to dream big, so that they can become who God uniquely created them to be!

Like many teachers, she hopes to inspire students to become life-long learners. In the Spanish classroom, she especially wants to encourage students to pursue linguistic and cultural competence.
