Over the past 21 years, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for our school by selling our "famous" pies. Last year, we had a limited production of pies, but this fall, we're bringing Apple Pie Day back on Friday, October 15!

Apple Pie Day is our school's second largest fundraiser, and our school community comes together to assemble hundreds of our "famous" Dutch apple pies (3800, to be exact) all on one day! BCS parents and staff members along with alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, and members of the community will gather to pitch in.

Sign up now on the Volunteer Sign-Up Genius to be a part of Apple Pie Week, with opportunities to serve starting on Wednesday evening (Oct. 13th), Thursday during the school day (Oct. 14th), and multiple shifts on Friday (Oct. 15th) in varying capacities. In the meantime, start spreading the news that BCS Apple Pies are back, and place your pie orders!

NEW! This year we're selling raffle tickets for a few special items, including the first pie off the line, delivered by Mr. Vos himself!  Get your tickets here: 2021 Apple Pie Day Raffle.

All About Apple Pie Day

How do we do it?

Wednesday night, you’ll find many helping hands assembling boxes and setting up. On Thursday morning, topping is made and that evening, hundreds of bushels of apples are delivered. By Friday night, hundreds of pounds of sugar, flour, cinnamon and apples are transformed into thousands of the most delicious Dutch apple pies you’ll ever taste!

Who can take part?

We welcome help from all over! Parents, staff, alumni, grandparents and friends of the school all show up to pitch in. High school students, including many BCS alumni, come from all over the area to help (and earn volunteer hours!), adding a welcome surge of youthful enthusiasm. Everyone has a great time on the assembly line renewing acquaintances, peeling, coring, slicing, inspecting, filling, boxing, bagging, hauling, and cleaning.

How can I order pies?

Pies can be ordered by contacting your favorite BCS student, contacting our school office, or by using our Online Order Form.

How can I help during the event?

Many opportunities for people of all ages are available to make this event the huge success it is. Online volunteer registration now open!  We also welcome donations of food and beverages to feed the hungry volunteers throughout the day.

If you would like to help underwrite the costs of some of the materials needed to make and package the pies, please contact our Apple Pie Day Coordinators.
