In 1957, a meeting was held to establish the Milwaukee Christian School Society, a group of parents wishing to build a Christian school in the area. Through their hard work and dedication, the doors of Milwaukee Christian School opened in the fall of 1964, with 19 students enrolled. The founders of the school had a vision to to provide excellent academic training with a Christian perspective on all of life. In 1975, enrollment had grown to 58 students, and the first kindergarten class met. Just over a decade later, 4K was added. The school continued to grow over the years, and with 122 students it was time for a major building addition in 1991, followed by another addition in 2000. Since the founding of the school, the community around it had developed from farmland and a sprinkling of homes to a bustling suburban community. The name of the school was changed to Brookfield Christian School in 2003 to reflect the geographical location of the school. A year later 26 students, the largest graduating class in the school's history, walked across the stage at graduation. In 2005, our 3K program was added, and the school continued to grow. The year 2014 marked the school's 50th anniversary, the completion of a third major building additon, and an enrollment of 253 students. To commemorate this occassion we created a special video that included conversations with some of our founders: BCS 50th Anniversary Video
Today, academic excellence within a Christ-centered atmosphere continues at Brookfield Christian School, serving more than 280 students in grades 3K-8, and more than 600 alumni are now learning, leading and serving faithfully in God's world.
In faith we began. In faith we go forward. The motto embraced by our founding families continues to guide us. With God’s blessing, BCS has grown richly for more than 55 years, and we look to the future with great expectation of what God will do in and through the students that pass through our doors.
