A parent of three BCS students, he was already a familiar face to many, but in the fall of 2020, Mr. Lee Sytsma joined the BCS faculty as our middle school history and Bible teacher. When he’s not at school, you might find him hiking, reading, playing board games and video games, or grilling. Lee resides in Brookfield with his wife and three children. They attend Brookfield Christian Reformed Church.

When asked about his favorite passage of Scripture, he said: “My favorite passage tends to change weekly. Lately it's Titus 3:3-8, because in just a few short verses Paul neatly summarizes the entire gospel. I love how Paul emphasizes that even though we are not saved by doing good, that God's grace enables us to be agents of good. It's the point of the project!”

Mr. Sytsma is excited to be a part of the BCS faculty: “ I admire the teachers and staff at BCS who take my breath away with their level of dedication and love for each individual student. Their Christ-like love is something I aim to emulate in my own teaching. I am also deeply appreciative that every class and subject is viewed through the biblical worldview of creation, fall, redemption, and consummation.”
