Mrs. Sharon Fikkert

Elementary Music Teacher

• Hometown: Holland, MI
• Joined the BCS staff in 2020
• Education: BA – Elementary Education Degree, with extra coursework in Music Education, from Calvin College (now Calvin University)

Mrs. Fikkert joined our staff in the fall of 2020, but she has been a familiar face around school for years.  Not only is she mom to 4 BCS students, but she accompanied many concerts and performances by students, served as a substitue teacher, and volunteered in many other areas.

When Sharon is not teaching our elementary music classes, you might find her volunteering at church on the worship committee or teaching Sunday School.  She als enjoys crafting, spending time with my family and friends, exercising, reading, playing the piano, baking and teaching her kids how to bake. The Fikkerts are involved in the Safe Families ministry. God has led them to open their home and hearts to many different children in the Milwaukee area. They reside in Brookfield and attend Brookfield Christian Reformed Church. 

Mrs. Fikkert says, "it has been such a blessing to watch teachers pour into our children and really become strong, positive, Christian role models in their lives. Also, it is evident that Christ is at the center of all that is done at BCS. I am very excited to be a part of this school on the teaching side. I look forward to teaching music, integrating my faith, and helping children discover that they can glorify God with their music and use it to encourage those around them."

One of her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.  She says, "through different seasons of life God continues to teach me that He is so faithful. We can trust in Him wherever He leads and stand firm on His promises. What a freedom this brings!"
