  • Hometown: Alabaster, AL
  • Joined the BCS staff in 2019
  • Education: Elementary Education, Auburn University

Ms. Michelle Birk first joined us in the fall of 2019.  She currently serves as one of our 4th grade teachers.  Before coming to BCS, she taught at a Christian school in Nebraska for 25 years.

When she’s not teaching, Michelle enjoys spending time with family & friends, playing games, biking, boating, building with Legos, books, science, logic games and brain teasers. She enjoys being an aunt, and visiting her family back in Alabama. Ms. Birk attends Elmbrook Church and her church in Nebraska virtually. She resides in West Allis with her cats Oreo and Snickers.

She has too many favorite passages of Scripture to pick just one!  Some of her favorites are: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." from Ephesians 4:32;  “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted & built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." from Colossians 2:6-7, and  Zephaniah 3:17 which says, "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with His love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

“I loved my school in Nebraska & was heartbroken when it closed; I didn't expect to find a school quite like it ever again, but God guided me to BCS and provided me with a home here. The staff at BCS is wonderful! I’m very impressed with the curriculum, especially the readers' and writers workshop. I was also extremely impressed with the resource department; I've never known a Christian school with such a wonderful team of experts pushing into the classroom. It has been such a gift to be here.”
