Tricia Snoeyink joined BCS in the Fall of 2014, teaching our first grade class. Tricia grew up in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. When Ms. Snoeyink is not at school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on vacations, running, baking, and doing arts and crafts.
Her favorite scripture verse is Philippians 4:6-7, which says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Tricia says, “These verses remind me to give my worries and anxieties to God. When I do this I can find rest in knowing that my future is in his hands and I can experience the joy that comes from God’s grace.”
“It is my privilege to teach in a Christian community, walking in prayerful step with my colleagues, students and their parents to provide the best education we can for the children God has entrusted to us. First grade is an important time to build a child’s curiosity and love of learning and to instill in them a positive feeling about themselves and school. I want each of my students to develop a confidence in who they are as the unique and beautiful children God created them to be.
In my classroom I aim to challenge students while giving them the necessary support to meet their individual needs. As children learn and play together, I will guide them to discover new things, and grow stronger in their understanding of and relationship with God. They will learn of God’s love for them and his gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. With Christ as our constant example, our classroom will be a place where we learn how to love, forgive, and serve others. I believe God’s hand is evident in all of His creation, and it is a privilege at BCS to be able to recognize this and make it known.”
